Coronavirus / Covid-19 Updated Information

For advice on Coronavirus or if you have been travelling and are concerned you may have coronavirus then use the 111 online coronavirus service to find out what to do next.

If you are told to self-isolate, help us to support you by emailing our Emotional Support and Wellbeing advisor, Carol Jackson carol.jackson@crtcare.co.uk

Symptoms of coronavirus and how to avoid it

The symptoms of coronavirus are:

  • a cough
  • a high temperature
  • shortness of breath

But these symptoms do not necessarily mean you have the illness. The symptoms are similar to other illnesses that are much more common, such as cold and flu.

It’s very unlikely to be coronavirus if:

  • you have not been in close contact with someone with confirmed coronavirus
  • you have not been to a country or area with a high risk of coronavirus in the last 14 days – see our coronavirus advice for travellers
  • If you think you might have coronavirus, use the NHS 111 online coronavirus serviceto find out what to do.

To avoid coronavirus

Do:

  • cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze
  • put used tissues in the bin immediately
  • wash your hands with soap and water often – use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available
  • try to avoid close contact with people who are unwell
  • If you have fever, cough and difficulty breathing seek medical care early – to protect yourself and others, do not go to a GP, pharmacy or hospital the UK use the 111 online coronavirus service.

Don’t:

  • do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean

You can find out more about the advice from the NHS and from Public Health England.

Support

People expressing concerns for themselves or loved ones regarding the virus should be directed to:

  • Emotional Support and Wellbeing advisor carol.jackson@crtcare.co.uk or
  • call 01388 768271 and ask for our Pandemic Leaders: Paul Hood and Ferran Alcazar.

In light of concerns around coronavirus, our Head of Operations, Ferran Alcazar has written to all staff and service users to reinforce the importance of Dale Care Infection Control policies and procedures and to establish an efficient communication in this matter.

Travel

We have implemented a process to identify and support staff returning or planning to go away the UK from annual leave.

People who are planning to travel to any of the countries affected must seriously review the business need to travel and consider making alternative arrangements.

Find out about the latest advice on travel from Public Health England on countries affected and the action you need to take.
